Women’s Team Gears Up For First Meet

Rails Have Historic State Meet

The state meet in Marshalltown (11/5/11) was especially memorable for the Lincoln Rails Women's team because school history was made! Another “W” – This Time Against Ottumwa

The Lincoln high school women's team won big over Ottumwa with a final score of 108 - 62. The Rails went home with victories in nearly every event! A few notable swims include:
  • -- Abby Harrison's 1:10.34 100 Back
  • -- Torie Dott's 100 Free time of 1:06.22
  • -- Alex Bennett's 6:28.77 500 Free
It was a great wrap-up to the dual meet season. But this busy week isn't over yet! Oct. 19th brings the Metro Conference Diving meet, where Emilie and Cat will be competing. The meet begins at 5:00 p.m. and will end around 6:00 p.m. at Roosevelt High School. Oct. 20th is the Metro Conference Swim meet which begins at 4:30 p.m. also at Roosevelt High School. Rails Take 3rd at LHS Invite

Congratulations to the Rails Swimming Women's team! They took 3rd in the Lincoln Invite on Saturday (9/24) and earned some new season best times along the way. The day began with diving. Boone jumped out to an early lead taking the top spot. With a panel of five judges, the Rails divers got a chance to see what 11-dive meets are all about. Torie Dotts dove well - earning her best score of the season, 110.70 for six dives. Swimming started at 11:30 a.m. with the Medley Relay. 4 Meets, One Week!

The High School Women's team had four meets inside of seven days: Ames (9/13), S.E. Polk & Carroll (9/15) and North (9/20). The Rails performed well, earning some new personal and/or season best times. Some great swims include:
  • * Alex Bennett's swam a 6:28.20 500 Free at the S.E. Polk & Carroll double dual.
  • * Jordan Greenwood's 200 IM time of 2:44.04 against S.E. Polk & Carroll was a personal best
  • * Abby Harrison swam the 100 Back in a time of 1:10.05, a new personal best
  • * The 200 Free Relay of Brittany Purscell, Olivia Simpson, Abigail Contreras and Autum Song went the fast time of the season against North - 1:51.87
  • * The Medly Relay of Abby Harrison, Brittany Purscell, Autum Song and Olivia Simpson went a 2:00.89 against North
