Introducing the Rails Swim/Dive team juniors! They’ve joined the ranks of upperclassman and will be key leaders on the team this year. This group of veterans will definitely play an important role in the success of the team, both for winning meets and for getting events to State. Learn a little more about each girl below.
Mariah Baenisch | Mariah attends Carlisle High School. Her main goal for 2019 is to drop three seconds in her 100 Breaststroke. She’s most looking forward to boding with the team and doing her best. Mariah is also involved in track, marching band (and is a drum major), student council, student ambassador, and is a basketball manager.
Emma Chase | Emma attends Norwalk. She competes in the 100 Free and 100 Breaststroke. Emma’s main goals for this season are to reach 1:14 in the 100 Breaststroke and to become closer to members of the team. She’s most looking forward to team meals and making memories with everyone! Emma’s also involved in track, show choir, marching band, large group speech, STUCCO and the dance marathon committee.
Josie Helm | Josie attends Lincoln High School. She swims the 200 Free and 500 Free. Josie’s goal main goal for 2019 is swim the 500 Free in sub 5:40. She’s most looking forwad to making memories and having fun with the team.
Torin Lackmann | Torin attends Norwalk High School. She competes in the 100 Breaststroke and 200 IM. Torin’s goals for this year include qualifying for state finals in the 100 Breaststroke. She’s most excited about spending time with the team and working hard to improve her times. She’s also involved in the track, STUCCO and youth group.
Chloe Marquis | Chloe attends Norwalk High School. She swims the 100 Back and 100 Fly. Her biggest goal for this season is to go Sub :60 in the 100 Back. Chloe is most looking forward to spending time with her BFFs. She also participates in track.
Courtney Meyer | Courtney attends Lincoln High School. Her main events for this season are the 100 Back and the 200 IM. Courtney’s main goal for this season is to reach a 2:25 in her 200 IM. She’s looking forward to swimming in the meets and hanging out with the team.
Tessa Orput | Tessa attends Carlisle High School. She competes in the 50 Free, 100 Free and 100 Breaststroke. Her main goal for 2019 is to get faster in the 100 Breaststroke. Tessa’s looking forward to winning meets and making school history along with reaching new personal bests and bonding with her teammates.
Ellie Sizemore | Ellie Sizemore attends Norwalk High School. She races the distance events of the 200 Free and 500 Free. Her 2019 goals include making it to state in the 500 Free and the 200 Free. e in the 500 Free. Ellie is excited about meet nights with the team, Thursday Morning Breakfast Club, getting faster and watching everyone improve their times too. Ellie’s also involved in Track & Field.
Anika Snow | Anika is homeschooled. She competes in the 50 Free and 100 Free. Her goals this season are to go Sub :55 in the 100 Free and qualify for state in the 50 Free again. Anika’s most excited about team dinners, breaking school records and bonding with the team. She is also a skilled piano player.
Ava Zaugg | Ava Zaugg is Carlisle High School sophomore. Her main individual event is the 100 Fly. But she also competes in the 200 IM and the 200 Free depending on the meet. Ava’s biggest goal this season is to make it to state in the 100 Fly. She’s most looking forward to the competing in the meets and spending time with friends.
