Rails Top Indianola in 86-84 Victory

The Rails Men’s Swimmers headed to Indianola on Tuesday (1/10) where they knew they were in for a close and exciting meet. And it didn’t disappoint!

The meet began with the Rails winning the Medley Relay. But the Indians won the next several events, while the Rails depth swam well for important 2nd, 3rd and 4th place finishes. At the first break, the team was down 2 points. After winning the 100 Free, the score was tied. But by the second break, the Rails were down eight points with only three events left.

The 100 Back was an exciting race, with the Rails taking 1st, 2nd and 5th to make the meet within two points headed in the 100 Breaststroke. Following that race, the team needed 1st AND 3rd in order overcome the 4 point deficit to win. It all came down to the final race of the night and the Rails came through! The winning relay did so by .35 of second with the 3rd place relay doing so by 4 seconds! Final score 86-84

“This evening’s meet was a perfect example of an entire team coming together and not relying on just a few individuals. With our team still wearing drag suits for meets and still practicing at high yardage totals, this was a great win to get,” said Coach Weber.
