Rails Swim Well at Men’s Marcussen Invite

The varsity members of the Rails Men’s Swim team headed to Cedar Falls on Saturday (12/10) to participate in the Men’s Marcussen Invite. This year the invite featured Jefferson High School, Decorah, DM Lincoln, Dowling Catholic, Mason City, Muscatine, Pleasant Valley, and Waukee. Swimming against these powerhouse schools gives the Rails a chance to compete against some of the best swimmers in the state. A chance that typically wouldn’t come until the State Meet.

“We took a different approach this year to prepare for this meet. I think it paid off, as we had guys swam better at this meet than they ever have,” said Coach Weber. “It was awesome to see the guys do so well. When competing at essentially a mini-state meet, being able to go toe-to-toe with most of the swimmers here was definitely an accomplishment.”
