We’d like to introduce our final senior in the Meet The Seniors series. These posts offer a great chance for all of our fans to see what wonderful young ladies help lead our team as we near Senior Night 2015. The last senior is: Ane Skartvedt.
Ane Skartvedt is a four-year Varsity swimmer. Ane has been a versatile swimmer during her career, swimming sprint freestyle events, 200 Free, 200 IM and the 100 Breaststroke. She’s really excelling at the Breaststroke events. She swims that leg in the Medley Relay (which qualified for state last year) and is 4th All-Time in Lincoln Girls’ Swimming history for the 100 Breaststroke.
Years on the team: 4 years
Years spent swimming: 10 years
Biggest Swimming/Diving Accomplishment: Qualifying for State last season
Favorite Win: Beating Carroll as a sophomore
Favorite Swimming Quote: “Swimmers do more yards than a football player, more kicks than a soccer player, more flips than a cheerleader and more sets than a volleyball player. Still think we aren’t athletes?”
Message to the Team: “Work hard every day. Because in the end all the pain you endure is worth it.”
Coach’s Comments: “As I’ve watched Ane grow from a 9 year old swimmer to a senior in high school, she has become a leader on the team through her actions and how she portrays herself at meets and practices. Ane understands the strict discipline needed to succeed at the highest level. But at the same time, she knows how to have fun. Her intense drive to be at a Marshalltown with her teammates will definitely be missed next year.” -Head Coach, Brayton Weber
Additional Activities: Shows horses competitively.
Favorite TV Shows and/or Movies: Harry Potter, the books and the movies!
Future Plans: Go to a 4-year university to major in elementary education.
Final Comments: I’d like to thank the team for all of the great memories! 🙂
