We’d like to introduce our seniors in the Meet The Seniors series. These posts offer a great chance for all of our fans to see what wonderful young ladies help lead our team as we near Senior Night 2015. Up next: Allison Kochheiser.
Allison Kochheiser swims both Varsity and Junior Varsity events. Allison has become a strong leader for the entire team. With the start of taper, she even makes sure the JV lanes are going on the correct intervals and completing the sets listed on their practice board. Allison also cheers on the entire team during meets, helping encourage girls of all grade levels.
Years on the team: 4 years
Years spent swimming: 5 years
Favorite Swimming Memory (so far!): Marnie dancing during morning swim practices
To Me “Swimming is….”: “Swimming is more than just a work-out. It is a serious sport and a fun family. (Though in the beginning it was my way to get out of off-season basketball training!)”
Message to the Team: “Your worst enemy is yourself. Don’t allow yourself to say you can’t do something without even trying. Don’t let your mind talk you out of that third stair on the stair jumps or one less breath during your race or any other obstacle in life for that matter.”
Coach’s Comments: “Allison’s really grown during her four years of swimming. She’s really taken on a leadership role and is excelling at it. I’m glad to see Allison continue to improve her times and make swimming her own, even though she’s also involved in other sports and activities. Regardless of grade level or swimming ability, Allison helps encourage her teammates. And as a coach of an increasingly diverse team, that’s invaluable for team morale and season success.” -Head Coach, Brayton Weber
Favorite TV Shows and/or Movies: Bones (TV show) and Inside Out (movie)
Future Plans: Hopes to attend Concordia University Wisconsin in Mequon, majoring in Lay Ministry, specializing in missions work and youth ministry.
Final Comments: “Let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith” – Hebrews 12:1-2
