First Meet of the Season Next Week!

2015 Team 3_Final (2)The girls high school swim season starts before school this year! The first meet is a two-day, four-team invite, with diving held at Lincoln on Monday (8/24) and swimming held at Grinnell College on Tuesday (8/25).

The invite will be a close, competitive meet! The team knows this and has been working very hard hoping to earn their first victory of the season. We’d love to see all our fans there to cheer on the Rails!!

Meet Guidelines for Swimmers
Just a reminder on meet guidelines before, during, and after the meet.

Before the meet, swimmers will ride to Grinnell (and any away meet) together. They will also do their normal meet warm-up.

During the meet – swimmers are expected to stay with their team. It can be tempting at pools with stands on the deck to hang out with family and/or friends, but they need to be cheering for teammates. (Of course, they can stop by quickly after a race, to grab money, etc. We’re referencing extended periods of time.)

After the meet, swimmers should plan on riding home on the bus. However, if there are extenuating circumstances, this rule can be modified. Be sure to talk to Coach Weber first if this occurs so the team knows.

For home meets, they’ll need to help clean up (put touchpads away, etc). Many times the swimmers will go out to eat after home meets or local away ones. When the meets are further from home (ex. Grinnell), we generally have parents pick-up pizza and drinks for the bus ride so we can get everyone home as quickly as possible. The travel fee in the mandatory team bundle covers this team expense.
