Senior night was a last Tuesday (1/16) for the men’s team. Since the next (and last) dual meet isn’t until Thursday, it’s a great time to look back at senior night.
The meet began with excitement as the guys stormed out of the locker room looking for good swims and a chance to celebrate the two seniors on the team, Abraham Contreras and Carter Worth. Though the Rails didn’t come away with the “W” against Roosevelt, they did have some solid swims.
- Tanner Wood’s 200 Free time of 2:22
- Tyler Whitehead won the 100 Breaststroke
- Lucas Signor earned his Sub :60 T-shirt with his split in the 400 Free Relay
Of course, the night was a little bittersweet as the guys swam the last dual meet at home as a Rails swimmer. With several alum parents and fans in the stands, it was a full house as Carter and Abraham were escorted by family to stand in front of the home crowd. Read more about our seniors below.
Abraham Contreras: Abraham has been a member of the team for four years. His favorite memory is being conference champions his freshman year. Abe’s future plans include attending Iowa State for a chemical engineering. His advice to the team is to make every second worth it! Even when you’re tired!
Carter Worth: Carter has been a member of the team for four years, lettering all four years. His favorite memories of the team include beating Roosevelt his freshman year and the road trip to Cedar Rapids for the Jim Voss Invite last year. Carter’s future plans include attending Iowa for Biology or Psychology on a pre-med track. His advice to team is to make sure you always wok hard because the end comes much sooner than you think. You won’t realize how much something was really worth until its over.
