Congratulations to all the Rails swimmers who participated on the club team this summer! The SDMS Seahawks came away with their 6th consecutive win! Meanwhile, the participating high school athletes had the chance to win some medals and set new time standards in advance of season. Friday’s session was filled with current and future Rails swimmers, who set the tone winning 50% of the available medals for the evening!
Some meet highlights include:
- Girls A 200 15 & Up Medley (Harrison, A. Skartvedt, V. Santiago, Simpson) had a time of 2:04.75
- Boys A 200 15 & Up Sprint Relay (Belden, Co. Worth, Chidley, Ca. Worth) with a time of 1:40.38
- Girls 11-12 A 200 Free Relay (Ervin, Niemeyer, E. Benson, and E. Worth) went a 2:13.23. E. Benson and E. Worth both split 31 seconds in their 50 Free!
- Boys 11-12 A 200 Free Relay (J. Santiago, Evans, Bennett, Clark) had a time of 1:57.76. Clark split 27 seconds in his 50 Free! The team missed the conference record by just .50 of a second!
Practice will continue for all the high school swimmers until the start of girls season. Practices will remain Mon.-Thurs. from 7:00-9:00AM, with swimming and dryland training.
