Men’s Team Aims For State

The Metro Conference Meet was this past weekend (1/26). Held at Roosevelt, the Rails swam against Roosevelt, East, Hoover/North, Ottumwa, and Indianola aiming to improve seed times and prepare for the District meet. The Rails had some solid swims with several podium finishes including a first place by Matt Friend in the 200 Free.408380_10151337367878260_341821490_n The team placed third overall!

Of course the night before Conferences brings on the fun. Hair dying, mohawk shaving kind of fun!

Now the guys turn their attention to the District Meet. Districts is the culmination of an entire season of hard work. It where the state qualifiers are decided. The top 24 swimmers in each event swim at state and get the experience of a lifetime. The Rails have some lofty goals including sending two relays and several individual events.

19090_10151337348748260_1588959330_nThe Rails will be swimming at S.E. Polk High School for their district site. The meet is schedule to start at noon and the seating will fill up very quickly. We recommend coming early to get a good seat. District T-shirts will also be sold. They sell out quick! So be sure to grab your son’s early.

After the meet, we’ll all head over to the Worth’s house to find out who made it to State!

Good luck Rails!!
