Yesterday (9/4) afternoon the high school girls team left school, climbed into a bus, and made the 2 hour trip to Ottumwa. But it was the worth the trip! The Rails came home with another “W “and, once again, impressive times were posted by most of the team.
That means the team is now 4-2 overall and 2-0 against conference opponents. Here’s quick look at some of the meet highlights:
- Ane Skartvedt’s debut 200 Free was a fast 2:19!
- Autum Song and Jordan Greenwood tying for first in the 200 IM with a 2:33.61.
- Valeria Santiago getting a new personal best in her 100 Fly, a 1:10.
- Evan Chidley’s 6:31 500 Free was a regular season best (ever!) and an 11 second drop over her current season best.
With everyone dropping time, hopefully it won’t be long before we see some new names in our Top Five all-time list.
The Rails next travel to Carroll to take on their heated rival. After a big loss in 2005, the Rails won three straight. Now Carroll’s won three straight and the Rails are ready to take back the victory! Look for more details on the trip later this week. Go Rails!
