Rails Avenge Riders Loss

Even with an exhausting Thursday meet, the Rails swam great Saturday to fall just 2 points back of 3rd place and Waukee (out of 9 teams respectively) and beat Roosevelt by 28 points at the Johnston Invite. This invite sported six teams in the top 20 in the state, and three in the top 10. Big-time swims from the RHS dual meet and the Johnston Invite include:

  • Medley Relay (Hofmaier, Arias, Mit. Friend, Kern) 1.44.15
  • 200: Edwards 1.48.50 and Matt Friend 1.54.93
  • IM: Arias 2.04, Mit. Friend 2.18 and Nachtigal 2.23
  • 50: Hofmaier 23.56
  • Fly: Mit. Friend 1.00.45
  • 100: Tripp 55.24
  • 500: Edwards 5.01 and Matt Friend 5.18

  • Back: Hofmaier 56.41
  • BR: Arias 1.04 and Nachtigal 1.07
  • 400: (Worth, Arias, Matt Friend, Edwards) 3.26.01

The Rails are now in the top 12 in the power rankings with a team best state-wide power ranking in the last 4 years!

Tonight (1/10/12), the Rails head to Boone. It will be another close meet for the guys, as Boone has made a team goal to remain undefeated at home. We’d love to see our fans in their FAN  SHIRTS at the pool!
