The Rails Men’s team had their first meet last week and they swam away with a close victory! The team won by nine points, 89-80, to start their season off right. There were several great races by athletes on both sides. Overall, the Rails team swam well with a few outstanding performances including:
- Edwards, Arias, Mitch Friend and Worth swimming a 1:49.53 in the medley relay
- Carter Worth’s 23.86 50 Free split in the medley relay
- Tom Chidley swimming a 30.63 in the 50 Free
- Brady anchoring the 400 Free Relay in a time of 52.32
The team will be in for more close meets this week! Tonight (11/28) against Newton, the guys will have to stay focused to come away with a win. It’s their first away meet for the year.
Then on Thursday (12/1), the team faces a double-dual against S.E. Polk and Carroll – which be the closest meet yet. This double-dual is high-pressure, and last year the Rails walked away with a loss from both schools. They are hoping to avenge that this year and earn a 4-0 record!
