The middle school girls’ program is offered by middle schools in Norwalk, Carlisle and the south side of Des Moines. Athletes pay $40 to participate, receive a team shirt and get to compete against other middle school teams around the Des Moines Metro. These meets are structured similarly to high school meets and the girls have the opportunity to swim at a conference meet and earn medals at the end of season.
The middle school program is part of Rails Swimming club program. The middle school team practices with the club team. The team also participates in club meets that take place during the middle school season. However, the middle schoolers will also participate in their own meets, as described above. For specific practice and meet information, please visit the Club page.
If the athlete(s) is already a club swimmer for Rails Swimming and is in middle school, they will automatically be signed up for these additional meets and receive the team T-shirt as part of the club fee. If the swimmer is joining as a new middle school athlete, the athlete can participate for just the middle school season. Or, they can pay an additional $80 (the difference in fees) and join the club team after the middle school season is over.
If you have any questions about the middle school program, please email Coach Weber.
