The Rails Swimming Club program is for youth competitive swimmers.
The ages range from 5 -18 years old. Athletes compete in swim meets each season, with a Conference Championship meet at the end. The swimmers will race against others in their own age category to ensure the races are fair and competitive. Because this is a competitive team, the athlete must be able to swim 25 yards (one length) without stopping.
Club Rails Swimming offers the chance for young athletes to learn all four strokes, legal competition turns, proper starts & finishes, sport rules and be part of a team.
Practices are held at Lincoln and the South Suburban YMCA, depending on the athlete’s age-group and day of the week. Because the club team continues to grow, this helps keep a smaller number of swimmers in a lane. Plus, it allows the coaches to focus more individually on each child.
